Buying A New Computer?
Are you are planning to purchase a new computer in the near future? Then lets take a look at the minimum system requirements in order to run the Xenetech Graphic Workstation 32 bit software.
Processor: Pentium - 266 MHZ or better.
Memory: 32 meg.
*Operating System: Windows 98, ME, 2000 NT and XP.
Monitor: 15" color monitor.
Hard Drive: 4 gig or larger.
Floppy Drive: 1.44mb.
CD-ROM: 32x or better.
Ports: 1 Parallel, 2 Serial.
Modem: 56K x 2 Send/Receive Fax Modem or better.
Backup: Tape, Cartridge, Zip Drive, or R/W CD Drive.
PCI Slot: At least one PCI slot.
Any specifications not listed here can be decided upon by the customer or computer supplier. We do recommend that you contact your reputable local dealer for any computer purchases. They are more than welcome to call and speak to one of our technicians for specifications and settings.
Running a Rotary Table
In order to run a Xenetech rotary machine, your computer will need at least available PCI slot.
If you already have an existing APU card then your computer will need to have an available 16 bit ISA slot and approximately 13 1/2 inches of clearance inside the computer for the card to fit properly. Along with the ISA slot, you will need to be sure that there is at least 1 free IRQ in your system. Click here for a quick class on checking which IRQ's are free on your computer. If you are using a new PCI card, there is no IRQ settings to worry about.
The difference between the two cards is in the size. The older Xenetech APU card is approximately 13 1/2 inches long whereas the new Xenetech APU card is approximately 7 inches long.
Running a Laser
In order to run a Xenetech Laser, your computer will need at least 1 Serial Port (com 1 or com 2). The port will need to be configured correctly. In order for the Laser to operate. Click here to see how to configure the Serial Port and the Xenetech software to run the Laser.
If you have a network card installed in your computer, you can run the laser via a network. Consult your installation manual or the Software Help Files for more information.
The Xenetech Graphic Workstation requires the color settings be set to 256 colors when running the laser. The recommended screen area for Xenetech is 800 by 600 pixels.
