Laserable Materials

It is definitely fun to experiment with different kinds of materials.  There are no real starting values for lasering new materials, so just experiment.  However, before you try to laser on something new, keep a few things in mind.

Materials Sold in the Industry

One good rule of thumb:  If it is sold in the industry, then you can probably laser on it.  If you have any doubts about a material, get the MSDS sheet for it and look under the burning section.  There you will see if it emits any harmful gases and such.

Materials Sold Outside the Industry

For anything that is sold outside of the industry, be certain to obtain a copy of the MSDS sheet and check the burning section for any harmful gases BEFORE lasering that material.
