Software Settings for the Xenetech Laser

The following can also be used to configure the ports for a Meistergram Laser as well.

 

Configuring the Laser Com Port

  1. Right click on my computer and select Properties.

  1. Under the System Properties dialog, Select the Device Manager tab.

  2. Scroll down and click the “+” sign next to Ports.

  1. Highlight the Com Port that your laser is connected to and click on the Properties button at the bottom of the dialog.

  2. Click on the Port Settings tab.

Enter the settings as shown below:

 

Bits per second                              57600      *38400 for Meistergram Lasers*

Data bits                                           8

Parity                                             Even

Stop bits                                           1

Flow control                                 Hardware

 

Setting the Monitor Settings

  1. From the Desktop, select Start | Settings | Control Panel...

  1. Double click on the Display icon.

  1. Choose the Settings tab.

  1. Set the Colors to 256 Colors.

  2. Click on Apply.

  3. Click on OK to close out the Display Properties dialog.

 

Depending on how the computer is set up, a dialog might appear, giving the option to restart the computer with the desired setting or apply without restarting.  If this happens, choose to apply without restarting.

Setting up the laser in Xenetech

  1. In Xenetech go to Page | Engraving Table Defaults...

  1. The information should be entered as follows:

  1. Click on OK when finished

  2. Under the Line/Group, be sure that:

  1. In Xenetech, select Line/Group | Hatch Fill Setup...

  1. Click on OK when finished

  2. Go to File | Save Preferences

You will see a message asking if you wish to overwrite your preference file.  Select OK.
