Advantages of XGW32

Overview

The purpose of the XGW 32 software is to allow us the ability to work in the Windows 32 bit environment. The overall look of the software has not changed from the 16 bit version. This version of the Xenetech software now works with the following versions of Windows:

• Windows 98

• Windows 2000

• Windows ME

• Windows NT

• Windows XP

Features

Long File names

With the 16 bit software we were restricted to naming files to no more than 8 characters.  Now with XGW 32, we are not bound by the 16 bit limitations and can now more than 8 characters.

Dithering

The XGW 32 software comes complete with a new dithering routine.  This will allow you to convert bitmaps to black and white using line art or error diffusion.  After converting the bitmap you can invert the colors or engrave it as it is.

Item Selector Dialog

With the XGW 32 software, we are now able to utilize the standard Windows Item Selector Dialog. Various functions can be accomplished in the I.S.D such as copying, pasting, deleting etc.

Drawing Tool Enhancements

• Due to 16 bit environment restrictions, we were limited on sizes objects created with the Graphic tools over 32 inches in size now work properly as well as objects over 32 inches in size can now be Hatch Filled.

• With the release of the new XLT laser, there will be a feature added to the drawing tools that will allow you to set a focusing point on the layout screen.

Help File Improvements

Along with the XGW software, the help files have been completely updated with new information and a new look.  Some of the additions include an Example topic section and FAQ.
